For more than 200 years, Chinese people from mainland have gradually migrated to settle in Chiang Mai and have inherited the Chinese heritage of blood to the grandchildren till now at the 4th and 5th generation. Most of them have careers in trading. There are some craftsmen, such as seamstresses, shoe makers, mechanics, construction technicians, etc.
Wherever the Chinese move to in the world, they will continue to maintain the culture and traditions firmly. The unique identity is gathering together as a group or organization to build a good relationship with each other and will jointly create benefits for the local society continuous.
In 1876, Chinese people in Chiang Mai joined together to form the Pung Thao Kong-Ma Shrine for prosperity. In 1901, Chinese businessmen have opened HuaYing School for their children to learn the Chinese language and culture to inherited the intellectual and property inheritance until today in the name of ChongHuaXinSheng School.
In 1957, the overseas Chinese of Chiang Mai established the “Chiang Chad Charity Church”, which was located at the former site of the Chinese School. The purpose of the establishment of “Chiang Mai Xiu De Church” is to manage the “Kuang Xin” cemetery, which is also the Hua Qiao Yi Shan Zhuang. The charity has naturally become the center of public welfare for all overseas Chinese groups. The work of this center has been well received by the public. At the same time, it has also received government recognition and social acceptance.
In order to secure the fair interests of overseas Chinese businessmen, in 1972, under the leadership of overseas Chinese leaders Zheng ChengXuan, Weng RuiHe, Chen QianGui and Li XiYuan, many overseas Chinese leaders co-founded the “Chiang Mai Chinese Chamber of Commerce” There were a large number of members, and Zheng ChengXuan was named the first chairman of the chamber of commerce. In the early days of the establishment, the Chamber of Commerce borrowed the “Chiang Mai Charity Church” as the office club. Later, during Mr. Lin ZhuoRan’s presidency, Chairman Lin raised more than 10 million baht to build a center for the Chamber of Commerce.
The newly built Chamber of Commerce has a conference hall that can accommodate more than a thousand people. The center of the Chamber of Commerce Office covers an area of two rai. It has received strong support from the ChongHua XinShengHuaLi Foundation and provides free use of the land.
19th executive committee with Mr.HanMing, Chen during his chairman period, has changed the name of “Businessmen organization in China mai” to “Association of businessmen in Chiang Mai” in order to be consistent with the development of the organization as a center Coordination between more than 40 Chinese organizations to benefit all organizations in general.

Now it has completed the renovation project and restored the magnificent landscape. We will achieve the task of “building a platform for exchanges between Chinese businessmen, promoting mutual friendly cooperation, promoting economic and cultural development, and grasping the economic integration of ASEAN plus China’s major opportunities.” “Promoting the meeting to improve, strive for improvement, benefiting members, serving Chinese overseas Chinese, contributing to economic construction, social development, cultural exchanges, charitable causes in Chiang Mai, and promote friendship and cooperation, and promoting Chinese culture to contribute to the society.
In year 2015~2019, the Board of Directors passed a resolution appointing Cheng, Rong Bo as 22~23rd president of the association. Therefore to set the vision to lead the organization to “Thai Chinese business center connect friendship, strengthen economic, education and culture into the ASEAN community. “
In 2019, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce has entered the forty-seventh anniversary of the founding of the board of directors. The council publicly promoted Mr. Zeng ShaoChun as the chairman of the twenty-fourth session of the board of director.
